T O P I C R E V I E WnoreenzBeing the procrastinator that I am, I have to decide where to go and book airline reservations today 12/10 by 11:00 pm or loose my free tickets.Last Dec. my daughter and I took a "bump" and received free tickets......within the continental US, through UnitedAirlines...so, where to go??????????????????????? Live in California, so I can cancel that out.....thinking Florida????? Any ideas?? suggestions???? Where would you go? Plan on doing Washington DC with the whole family. This trip I need to plan is just for husband and I. Thanks in advance for any ideas, also if you give a suggestion, please tell me the time of year you would go. I have got to be the worlds biggest procrastinator, I wonder if there are certain aspects in ones chart that would show this.....if there is, I'm sure I have 'em all. lol.Thanks,NoreennoreenzOOOOPs......I probably should have posted in FFA, please feel free to move. Thanks, Noreenastro junkieHey Noreenz -No problem posting here - it's cool. We talk about travel and some people know a little about cartography (sp?) or where the best places for you to be are according to your astrological chart. Have you tried the one on astro.com yet? It's interactive.I guess it depends if you are looking for a "relaxing" time, or you know, where you are active, such as in a rafting in the rushes.Aquarian GirlI second Astro Junkie's suggestion of checking out the astrology of places for yourself and hubby. But otherwise... my suggestions for places to go... would be like... any place you haven't been yet! What about Boston? I am dying to go there, I have never been. Connecticut is BEAUTIFUL. They have gorgeous, cosy bed and breakfasts there, you can go canoeing, relax, so picturesque, I am in love with Connecticut, I spent a week there over 4th of July for a friends wedding in the country. I can't rave enough about it. The area I was in was New Preston, CT. What about New Orleans? I haven't been there, but I'm itching for an excuse to go. ALASKA! Alaska is so different and beautiful, maybe theres a weekend cruise you can take? My former in-laws spent a week or so up there, I was so jealous. It looked magnificent.AphroditeHard to say since no preferences were given . . . so these are just a reflection of my own ideas . . . New York City - Any time of year Seattle - Any time of year Montana - Firehole Ranch in the Summer Hudson Valley, New York - Spring to Fall Maine - Spring to Summernoreenzjust got up, checking in, lol. Thanks guys for your input.I just learned a little about cartography a few weeks ago, in this little astrology class I am taking. I'll check Astro.comand see what they say...I had no idea they addressed that there. ThanksWhen I get to work, I'll into look into East Coast options.Aphrodite...good morning, you're up early. lol............re: preferences...I have none, totally fickled. Up until now vacations were only to visit family in MN/ND or when my 10 yr old ran X-county the past couple years for the Jr. Olympics, where I visited Carrolton GA &Albequerque NM(sp? yikes), due to my husbands work, we were unable to do much planning, everything is at the spur of the moment/last minute kinda thing. excuses, excuses, lolThanks again, I'll be chking in throughout the day, and probably be at the airport to get ticketed 1 hr prior to closing 10 pm because, well, that seems to me.....push'in it up to the last minute and then rush, rush, rush.Aquarian GirlI second NYC... I NY!I just assume everyone's already been there. AphroditeI NY too!The food is amazing. The neighborhoods have their unique cultures and lots of little shops. Central Park is beautiful. The local culture with regard to transportation just somehow works. The subways, taxis, buses . . . everything moves 'round the clock!noreenzDONE!!!! New York it is. So I too can say "I NY"Thanks ya guys. Noreenlioneye68I was just going to suggest New Orleans. The oldest city in the south. I love that city. Soooo much history there. The feeling you get just walking through the French district truly transports you to another time and place. And, it's bursting with shops to do with the occult. It's heralded as a North American cradle for vodoo and everything occult. Not to mention the ghost tours, and the "city of the dead". Yeah, it's an extremely interesting and emotionally stirring place.noreenzThanks Lioneye....you just gave me an idea...an old friend has been wanting for she & I to go some where and get outta here....that would be the PERFECT place! My husband is Ultra Conservative and thinks all of this is a bunch of hullabaloo, extremely closed minded, boy wouldn't he be fun to go with there, (not) lol. Aphrodite New York, New York hereisgoneThe only place I'd wanna go is Ukraine. But if it has to be in the US... hmmm. Well, what do you guys like? Or is there something you've never seen that you'd like to. Is there a certain time you're planning on? Oglebay in Wheeling, WV has the Festival of Lights (I've seen it; it's gorgeous!) Disneyworld(land?) in FL would be nice for the youngin. Or if you go during nice weather, there's the Badlands in South Dakota. You could search for fossils. Or even Yellowstone. Ok, sorry I'm not much help.
